Housing Slump

Image
They say the housing slump is over in my adopted town. I am having trouble believing it. This cute home has been on the market for a while now with no bites. Look how lovely her landscaping is Its on a gorgous street. Nice and quiet, manicured lawns and well cared for homes. A great place to raise your kids. Such a puzzle why no one has made an offer yet. Unless, Its this house that is right next door. Does anyone even live there? This neglected yard that obviously has no love? Yes of course someone lives there! This is my house! I dont get why my neighbors are selling? I dont understand why people are not flocking to buy it and live next door to me. LOL Do you? Maybe I can talk hubby into just running over them with the riding mower this weekend. It couldn't hurt

Saturday Drive By

Something different today. I filmed a quick drive by of my adopted town Mayberry You can see all the lovely homes, how close they are packed together and all the huge trees I am always yammering about. Its really windy so the sound quality is terrible Let me know if you see a house you would like more pictures of and I will try and feature it on a Tuesday around Town entry Also, you get to hear me yammering in the back ground and yes I do sound that silly in real life.

Yes I know I havent done one in ages. I would give elaborate excuses if I could, but I wont. OK maybe I will whine just a little bit. I have been trying to diet and work out and failing miserably. I have been working lots trying to get out of debt and failing miserably I have been trying to organise my house and time and failing miserably So what the heck, I will put some pictures up of my beloved adopted town. First off the canopy of trees on the streets. I love them in the Fall it looks like you could go down this street and get lost in some sort of wooded mythical maze. What is that one line this road goes yonder or something poetic like that. This house is huge but look at the red tree right dead center. I wonder if they planned it that way. Either way I love how its green everywhere and that red hits you smack in the forehead I think this house looks out of place it looks as if it should be in new england or something but its crammed between the other homes. It needs to be in Con

Wow, I am so impressing myself with this posting Tuesdays on time This first house is on a crowded side street, I couldnt get a good picture because of the off street parking and if you look closely there is a big dog on the porch that didnt look that pleased to see me. The owners have done a lot of work on it themselves and when I went back to get in my car I saw some guy up to his head in a big dirt pile on the side. I dont even want to know what he was doing. Too much work for me. This one, I like the landscaping and I get so turned around driving around town looking for houses to take pictures of and hindering traffic that this one may be a repeat. I am too lazy too look. Finally, I was motivated enough after looking at all the landscaping to add something to my own yard. I think this bridge fits in nicely with all the weeds I am too lazy to pull. I might have to find a new home for the rusty dog though, he doesnt seem to fit in as well now. Hope you like!

Since I am such a lazy slug these days and slept in until 1pm, todays Tuesdays are all drive by shootings. I promise to do better next week. First to give you some perspective, this is what the street looks like that all these homes are on. I took it to show how weird it is so many different types of homes all thrown together on one street. All under the monster trees we all love of course :) You cant really tell from this picture too well but this house is stucco sort of and with the colour and landscaping it looks like it should be down south or in phonix or something. i like it as it looks out of place with the others and I like what they did with the limited spaced yard. I had to drive around the block to get this huge monster of a house. It is on a corner lot. Who builds these things? I thought i was a nut with my huge privacy fence now I want one of these It looks like a fortress. I would want to build a moat Finally this one I featured on one of my first Tuesdays around town but

Tuesdays here YAY This first house I like because it just so HUGE I dont think you notice the size of it right away because of the front porch I also like the colour it looks blue Big Blue Keeping with that theme, this house here is so tiny. It looks like it should be sitting in someones back yard as a guest house but it's not. This tiny house is on the corner sitting proud with all the big houses. I would last like one week in this one before my own hording ran me out of it. Since flowers are still blooming around here, I thought I would include this one. What care this homeowner did on their walk way. I would do that but I would probably just trample on them in excitment when the UPS guy brought me my ebay purchases.

Today's Tuesday isnt homes but more landscaping. I love what this lady did to her yard What a great place to live! Imagine growing up a child in this yard First you would have to fight your way through the wild jungle battling tigers and lions and bears, oh my. Then you would stumble upon this hidden path.......Lots of dragons to defeat along the way. Which leads to a magical gate, I am sure you have to know the secret word to pass through. After the long journey you would have to fight off the troll who lives under the bridge and then you could converse with the fairies until you dozed off in the afternoon sun. All until the Good Witch of the House called you in and told you it was time for dinner :) Fun!

Finally See I didnt forget you dear internet. I have been busy getting a yard sale around, but more on that later. This first picture is of the monster trees I mentioned before. Look how big and ominous they are ready to tumble down on our heads. I like them though This is the view from my side yard. This house here is right across from my bank on a busy street I dont know if I could keep up with a brick home Are they high maintenance? Do you have to do anything special? Doesnt the grout crumble away? This next one I like it as it looks like a huge old victorian but its right on the corner of a busy intersection. It has absolutely ZERO yard and I cant imagine getting out of the drive way. I wonder what it looked like when they built it originally Maybe it was a huge plot with monster trees all over. Finally this one just down the road from me. Another one that would make a great local haunted house Maybe its the iron fence I would love to grow old in this house and have like 20 cats. S

Late of course, but we wont go there. This house is lovely but what really caught my eye is the backyard shown here. Its looks like its out of some public park or Grecian garden. Just Wow! I love this one because it has a huge side porch, a bay window and a porch. Gorgeous and it is sitting along the tree lined street with off street parking. Wonderful! I turned around from that last house and and saw this one. I cant get over all these old homes that are so obviously taken care of with love and pride. Its like walking along another century Finally this side yard, flowers all along her house that look like they are growing naturally and she even put an old style bicycle in the middle of it. Clever and beautiful while looking effortless. Arent they all just so lovely. Yesterday at my own crappy home I noticed we had weeds growing in the corner back yard that were missed and they were over 4 foot, went to grab them to pull them out but they were covered in sticky prickly things and they

Another Tuesday and I managed to get pictures on time this week. YAY me. I normally post pictures of the lovely homes I find in towns but today I am posting something different Here in my adopted town I call Mayberry they plant flowers all over the city. They put them in pots Hang em from street lamps Wrap them around trees Line their steps with them. Not a weed in sight, nor a dull coloured pastel. Blooming flowers EVERYWHERE. Its amazing, beautiful and slightly disturbing in a way LOL but anywh00000000..............without further delay here they are: Potted and wrapped around a lamp. More flowers pole dancing and if you look in the back ground you can see them all over the steps going to the court house. Climbing and claiming the steps of public buildings Such pride in their landscaping, this is the front of the local libray. I am almost ashamed of all the dandelions and weeds I grow in my own front yard!

I know it's even Tuesday and I managed to get them up on time. Yay me! This first picture is not so much the house as it is their yard. This is situated very close to a busy county road Right in front of their house is a very active railroad track Very busy one at that I cant imagine the noise, but look at this lovely tree in their side yard. This second one is located right across from the local schools if you can imagine No parking, horrible congestion, loud kids 9 months out of the year, but look how lovely it is. And finally this one is just down the block from a school Very pedestrian, but look, its on a hill as if it should be set in some wild forest for gretal to stumble upon. The iron fence and the landscaping make it decidedly eerie, if it wasnt that colour blue, I think it would be considered the local haunted house. BEAUTIFUL

Yes again I know it is Wednesday No reason to tell you again, that I am a procrastinator Today's Tuesday is along one street. These are fantatic homes but what is really amazing is they are along the same street with little ranch houses nestled in between. It is only three blocks from my own quaint modest street with my own crappy home on it. I just think its amazing old neighborhoods with old homes and modern 1950 ranches all clustered together amonst the monster trees that no one will cut down These were all taken from the street so forgive them for not being clear.

Today on Tuesdays around Town, we are not going far from home. Pictured is my own old crappy house that I actually managed to get some flowers planted We even got the flower beds cleaned up, weeded and threw some mulch in to cover the other flaws. WOW I know Be kind dear internet. Martha Stewart I am not But I am quite proud of them. I think they turned out pretty well Plus I can actually cross it off my to do list.
